This issue…. Notice of EGM, English Open Champion, How to Hit Series 5, Holland & Holland New Chief Operations Manager, Lead Vs Steel News

NOTICE OF EGM – 21ST JUNE 2021

At the Council Meeting held on the 24th of May 2021, Council proposed and agreed to hold an EGM of members for the purpose of putting before members changes to the Articles of Constitution (Appendix 1 and 4) as provided below.

Notice is therefore given that there shall be an EGA meeting by Zoom of the Institute of Clay Shooting Instructors on Monday 21st June at 11:00am  (This notice is in keeping with the Constitution changes passed at the AGM in March 2021).

The Council will ask members to vote on the changes to the Articles of Constitution given below.  All members of the Institute are invited to attend the Zoom meeting but as the vote is on the Articles of Constitution only Corporate Members, (Members and Fellows), may actually vote.  However, all present may express their views at the appropriate time.

The link for the Zoom meeting will be sent out on Sunday 20th June 2021 for those who request the link.  The link may be requested by emailing to icsi.zoomreply@gmail.com

Please check your emails for the details of this meeting.

Your Council have been working hard to bring forward these changes in the hope that they will provide opportunities for members to progress their membership of the Institute based on their experience and development and not just upon the completion of particular exams.

The date and the time of the meeting is based upon the availability of Council Members, who have to advocate these changes and it is always difficult to find a day and time which will suite everyone, sincere apologies to those who cannot make this time or date due their existing commitments.

LATEST NEWS

NEW ICSI WEBSITE

In December we found that the functionality of our ICSI website had virtually ceased to exist and was beyond effective repair.

Council sought help and Richard Halsall (a member), stepped forward to examine the existing website. He confirmed our suspicions that it was beyond repair and he volunteered to build a new site without charge. This offer was ceased upon by our new Chairman, John Robinson and he invited Council to put to Richard our ideas for the functionality our new website would need to meet the challenges faced by our Institute going forward for the next 5 years.

Over the last month Richard has been working to provide a new website which is fit for purpose and which will provide members with the facilities found in the websites of other similar organisations.

This has not been an easy task and I am sure that there will be some minor glitches along the way, but we hope to have a new website properly online by the 1st of June 2021.

Please bear with us all as we make changes to layout, spelling, grammar and some of the functionality. There is a button to press for support if you notice an issue which you think needs changing, please use it and help us to get things working correctly.

RICHARD FAULDS TAKES THE CPSA ENGLISH OPEN WITH A TENSE SHOOT-OFF IN THE SUPER FINAL.

Olympic gold medallist Richard Faulds MBE (pictured centre) emerged as the victor of the CPSA English Open English Sporting at Barbury Shooting School. Congratulations to him, and to all of the class and category winners!

The English Open at Barbury ended in a tense shoot-off with Richard just pipping Richard Bunning to the title. On the last stand Richard gave Richard Bunning the opportunity to take the event but Richard Bunning failed to take advantage and Richard Faulds took the Championship.

The severe weather conditions made the course very difficult but those who have spoken about the event reported it to be a very fair but testing course and Barury Shooting School put on a great Championship.
